Keith Jeffers, “The Running Doctor,” DC, CCSP, director of Jeffers Chiropractic and Sports Injuries in San Diego, California, tells you how to take shin splints in stride.
Q. What are the most common symptoms of shin splints?
A. Aching and burning around the shins, and generally the pain is there every time you run.
Q. How can active women prevent shin splints?
A. Wear orthotics; supporting the arches ahead of time is key. And changing your running shoes on a regular basis will provide extra support.
