Question of the Month:

Is drinking warm water with lemon juice a good addition to my clean-eating plan? I’ve read that people do this – including Tosca Reno – and I’m wondering what the benefits are.

Expert’s Response

Here are some of the benefits of a warm water and lemon juice blend.

- It promotes regular bowel movements and controls constipation and diarrhea by eliminating waste more efficiently. This helps reduce bloating.

- It’s good source of vitamin C and helps rejuvenate the skin. Water enhances the skin’s beauty and drinking the lemon juice helps rejuvenate the skin from within.

- It’s soothing to sip. It can help slow you down and take the edge off your hunger, simply by filling you.

Caveat One thing to keep in mind: Too much lemon juice may eat away at your tooth enamel.
