Best move: “Hanging leg raises!” says Laura, a former state championship soccer team member and volleyball captain. “I can always feel them for the next few days, which is very gratifying.”
She trains at: A local gym, but says she has a backup plan just outside her front door. “I kick my butt on a big bridge right outside my condo building! The StairMaster in the gym has nothing on that half-mile monster!”
Cardio vs. weights: Even though weights are a part of her training, Laura admits that a quick heart-pumping workout is what she loves most. “There’s nothing more satisfying than a good sweat! But the combo, with weights, gives me the results I want.”
What inspired you to start working out?
“I started working out to improve my sports performance in high school,” says Laura, who quickly realized that weight training combined with cross training improved her athletic performance. |
