Her inspiration: Lindsey admits she’s lucky. She has a great support system at her local gym, which is where she met her closest friends and boyfriend. “There are 12 members of my gym who compete in figure and bodybuilding,” says Lindsey, who started competing in 2008 after joining a small group of women who trained and competed together. Lindsey says she drew from their experiences to get her started and always had a copy of Oxygen nearby for added inspiration.
Her workout: Lindsey has already had a successful start on the competition front, with two second-place wins in local shows. She has big plans to compete at the national level one day, so she works out four days a week, training a new muscle group each day, with power cardio sessions in the mornings.
Her must-haves: With her closest friends never far away, it’s unlikely Lindsey would ever be stranded on a deserted island, but if she was, she lists her must-have weaknesses as lip balm, eggs (her favorite food!) and her computer. “I go through withdrawal if I can’t check my email!” says Lindsey.
