Water weight:
You probably know all about the benefits of keeping well hydrated, but if you time that hydration properly, you could increase your weight loss. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found that drinking about two cups of cool water on an empty stomach resulted in a 30 percent leap in metabolism.
All for almonds:
Eating almonds as part of a low-calorie diet helped subjects in a study published in the International Journal of Obesity lose 62 percent more weight and 50 percent more body fat than the control group, who ate a low-calorie diet that didn’t include almonds.
Grapefruit’s great: Ever the garnish in commercials
for breakfast cereal, half a grapefruit (or three servings of grapefruit
juice) could help you lose four to 10 pounds without altering any other
part of your diet or workout routine, suggests a study conducted at the
Scripps Clinic.
