1. Popping the wrong pills.
Make sure you give your doctor and pharmacist a complete picture of the medications you’re taking. Some drug interactions can be deadly. And while you’re at it, make sure you read all labels carefully and follow all dosing instructions.
2. Skipping breakfast.
Studies show that forgoing your morning meal can lead to lowered energy, poor concentration and weight gain. Start your day off right with some high-fiber cereal, fat free milk and fresh fruit. Or try this recipe for energizing protein pancakes.
3. Stretching before a workout.
You think you’re doing your body good, but a stretching session before you train could result in torn or pulled muscles. Save the stretching for after your workout, and begin with a 5 to 10 minute warm-up to avoid raising your heart rate too quickly.
4. Not washing hands long enough.
A quick rinse is not sufficient for getting rid of bacteria. Make sure you soap up for at least 15 seconds, or a full round of the Happy Birthday song.
5. Wearing tight-fitting jeans, undergarments or pantyhose.
You may look hot, but tiny clothing can restrict airflow and hold in heat and moisture, increasing your chances of getting a yeast infection.
