It sounds too good to be true: Shorten your workout and burn more calories. But a recent study published in The Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research proved it’s possible. Researchers found that performing two exercises targeting opposite muscle groups without rest burns more calories than a traditional set-rest-set workout. There’s more good news: Even though the supersets burned more calories during and after the workout, they took 20 percent less time to finish than the traditional sets.
