Jamie Eason - June 2007

She’s in the best shape of her life. To find out why, drop in for a chat with our cover girl.

Sign: Aries

Claim to Fame: Former Houston Texans cheerleader and Hardbody Entertainment 2006 World’s Fittest Model.

On her bedside table:
Undressed (FaithWords, 2006) by Jason Illian

On her iPod:
“I have a mix [of artists]. My new favorite is Matt Cusson. He’s similar to Brian McKnight and Justin Timberlake. It’s not my usual rock, but I’m really digging it.”

Support system: Initially, her parents were concerned when she was prepping for her first contest. “But when they saw me on stage, they couldn’t believe how healthy and fit I looked.”

Fit for life: Just like other women, I’ve had my breakdowns in dressing rooms, especially during swimsuit season, but to be scared of a potentially deadly disease (Jamie battled breast cancer), can really spark motivation.

On stage:
“There is so much preparation and discipline for that one moment in the spotlight. Is it worth it? You bet. I was hooked once I stepped on stage.”

In the gym: Admittedly clueless about clean eating and food portions, Eason hired a nutritionist. “Within a few months, my body began to transform. I went from skinny-fat to toned and lean.”

On her strength: “It became apparent very quickly that I was abnormally strong for my size. I loved giving the boys a run for their money.”

Her destiny:
After her first competition – also her first win – she found her path. “I walked away with a pro card. I feel very blessed to be recognized for something I’m so passionate about.”

Her advice:
“There is no magic pill or supplement. Just be consistent and have the desire to change,” she says.

Things she can’t live without

  1. Aquaphor Healing Ointment: “I rarely wear lipstick – I wear Aquaphor instead.”
  2. Flat Iron: “Without it, I would be a big poof head.”
  3. Pillow: “It is made of a bouncy foam. My allergies act up with feathers.”
  4. Coffee: “I think, if you turned me inside out, I’d be ‘regular black.’”
  5. Splenda: “Splenda makes everything taste better.”"
