In the Zone:
There’s no hitting snooze for this early riser. Aswadah likes to kick-start her day with an energizing sweat session first thing in the morning. “Working out in the morning gives me energy and helps me focus and maintain a positive attitude.” Her favorite move? “Squats! I can feel the burn and love the results.”
Calling card:
With her yo-yo dieting days behind her, a newfound passion for competing and a burning desire to help others, Allyson made a life-changing decision: she resigned from her full-time corporate sales position to pursue a career as a life coach and work towards her Pro card. “I found my calling,” she says. “It is my mission to inspire as many individuals as I can.”
Like Mother, Like Daughter:
From playing at the gym’s day care, to getting her own membership, Aswadah’s daughter has been with her every step of the way. It’s no wonder mom says her little girl has been her biggest supporter. “I love to look over at her running alongside me. It’s such a great feeling.”
Fit Abroad:
Aswadah lives by her three Fs: fitness, family and friends. So when this lover of travel goes abroad, she takes these fundamentals with her. She wasn’t about to let heavy foods weigh her down when she jetted to Germany; instead, she ate clean and cooked her own healthy meals. And on a trip to Asia, she refused to let her fitness flop. “I did push-ups, sit-ups and ran on the beaches of Thailand.”
What piece of advice would you offer a newbie in the gym?:
“It doesn’t happen overnight, but it can begin today. It takes time to see results, but if you don’t give up, you will see results.”
