• Vacation of a lifetime

    Hi Oxygen fans,

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged! I haven’t forgotten you, I was just lost at sea... literally!!! I thought my summer was going to be a bit quiet, but boy was I wrong! The last three weeks have been a whirlwind. I was in Portland for a few days working with an amazing company, Journey Gym. I got home and jumped on a plane to Paris the the next day for a vacation of a lifetime. My friend and fellow trainer, Gunnar Peterson, was celebrating his birthday in style and he invited Gunter and I to join. We started in Paris, then flew to Nice, drove to Monaco where we boarded a private yacht for a week. We cruised all over the Mediterranean, it was unbelievable!

I’ve had so many people ask me what I ate and how I trained while I was gone. To be honest, I didn’t! This is the first vacation in the past 8 years that I honestly ate and drank what I wanted to and didn’t think about putting on the pounds. I always travel with my resistance bands and watch what I eat, but this trip I decided to truly leave it all at home. OK, I did think about staying in shape and I did do a little math as to how much I was walking and eating, but truth is, that chocolate croissant with a view of the Eiffel Tower was the best croissant I’ve ever had. With out a doubt, it was well worth every calorie!!

With all the walking, swimming, and activities, it was easy to work off the extra calories. Finding the true balance between healthy food and working out with a few splurges and days off is one of my greatest accomplishments. Knowing what’s worth it and what’s not is such an important part of living a healthy lifestyle.

The entire trip Gunter kept joking that I’d get called to do a cover shoot as soon as I got home and ironically, I found out I was flying to NY the day after we landed to film with Dr Oz! Needless to say, I was glad I didn’t pack on the pounds!

I’m back in my groove and fired up to get back in my workout routine! I’ll be sure to share my “croissant burning” workouts with you all!

What do you guys do on vacation to avoid putting on extra weight?

Here’s some fun pics of our trip!
